Cloud Drive Mapper (CDM) 3.23.1 Hotfix

Release date: June 8, 2026

CDM client

Enhancements

  • We’ve improved CDM’s offline startup behavior to make it more resilient when backend services are unavailable. Previously, CDM’s offline startup failed to initiate as expected when a backend service, IDS, was temporarily unavailable, although support already existed for similar scenarios when Bifrost (the IAM Cloud API) is down. With this enhancement, CDM will now start offline even when both services are temporarily unavailable.

  • We’ve improved the experience when switching to use local drives in CDM. Previously, users encountered an administrative security prompt when enabling local drives, which disrupted their workflow and made this option harder to use when needed. This enhancement removes the unnecessary security prompt, allowing users to switch to local drives more seamlessly.

We’ve fixed the issue that was causing CDM to crash on launch due to an internal error related to certain checked-out files. This issue occurred when CDM encountered incomplete or inconsistent file records in the local database, leading to an unexpected crash. The fix addresses how such records are processed, preventing the crash and allowing CDM to start and run smoothly.

We’ve fixed the issue where duplicate SharePoint sites would appear during search and enumeration. This issue occurred because SharePoint returns paginated search results that include the same site at the end of one page and the beginning of the next, causing CDM to process duplicate entries. The fix ensures that CDM identifies and ignores duplicate sites, allowing directories to load reliably without errors.

We’ve fixed the issue where some users were unable to open PowerPoint files when accessed through CDM-mapped drives, with errors occurring inconsistently across different files and users. We’ve identified that this issue is linked to changes in how PowerPoint manages cached file data, which could prevent files from opening even though they’ve been downloaded successfully. The fix updates how CDM handles these interactions, allowing PowerPoint files to open reliably without requiring manual workarounds such as renaming files or clearing the cache.

We’ve fixed the issue in which proxy settings configured via a PAC (Proxy Auto-Configuration) file were not being applied correctly, causing network requests to be routed incorrectly or to fail in environments that rely on PAC-based proxy configuration. The fix ensures that PAC file-based proxy settings are respected, allowing CDM to route requests as expected.

We’ve fixed the issue where some devices encountered a “Win32 Access Denied (5)” error while upgrading CDM, which was preventing it from shutting down successfully. The issue occurred because the installer was querying CDM process information that it no longer had access to. The fix updates how the installer handles the “Win32 Access Denied (5)” error, ensuring affected operations can complete successfully.
