Managing conflicts
When a conflict arises, the CDM icon in the system tray will display an indicator alerting you to the conflict, at the least . However, if your organization has enabled toast notifications via the User interface policy in Iris, you will also receive a pop-up notification in the lower right corner of your screen. This notification will be visible in the Action Center or Notification Center until you dismiss it. Here are a few ways to slide the Notification Center into view:
-
Taskbar: Select the date and time in the taskbar.
-
Keyboard shortcut: Press the Windows logo key + N on your keyboard.
-
Touchscreen devices: Swipe in from the right edge of your screen.
When CDM cannot determine the correct version of a file or folder due to a conflict, it either copies and renames or renames the file or folder, depending on the nature of the conflict. Follow these steps to resolve conflicts via the Issue resolver window:
-
Select from the system tray to open the Active drives window.
-
Select and then View issues from the shortcut menu to display the Issue resolver window.
In case of multiple conflicts, you can narrow these down by selecting the related drive from the Drive: dropdown list and searching for the affected file or folder.
-
Select how you would like to resolve the conflict from the following options:
-
Keep both files: Select to keep both versions of the file (remote and local). CDM will rename the local version of the file by appending a suffix with your email address to the file name.
-
Keep local file only: Select to keep the local version of the file only. CDM will delete the file’s remote version.
-
Keep remote file only: Select to keep the remote version of the file only. CDM will delete the file’s local version.
Please ensure that you don’t select Keep local file only or Keep remote file only if you believe the reason for the conflict is a file name that matches one in the cloud, as the content of these two files may differ.
-
Select Confirm.
