Managing errors
How you receive error notifications depends on how your organization has configured these via the User interface policy in Iris. If your organization has enabled toast notifications, you will receive a pop-up notification in the lower right corner of your screen. This notification will also be visible in the Action Center or Notification Center until you dismiss it. Here are a few ways to slide the Notification Center into view:
-
Taskbar: Select the date and time in the taskbar.
-
Keyboard shortcut: Press the Windows logo key + N on your keyboard.
-
Touchscreen devices: Swipe in from the right edge of your screen.
In addition to toast notifications, your organization can also configure additional visibility settings for file upload progress via the User interface policy. The following settings pertain exclusively to active uploads and errors (if any) encountered in the process:
-
When set to None, the CDM icon in the system tray will display an indicator alerting you about the error . This indicator will always appear when an error occurs, regardless of your visibility settings.
-
When set to Minimal, along with the CDM icon in the system tray, you will receive a pop-up notification in the lower right corner of your screen. This notification will display the number of files with errors.
-
When set to Full, along with the CDM icon in the system tray, the Cloud Drive Mapper dialog box will appear on your screen. This dialog box will display the number of files pending upload and the number of files with errors.
Regardless of toast notifications and upload visibility settings, you can also view file upload progress and errors (if any) from the Active drives window.
-
Select from the system tray to open the Active drives window.
-
Select the desired drive from the list and then Pending uploads at the top of the window to display files pending upload to the cloud. Any file marked with indicates an error.
CDM will list only the first 20 files pending upload to the cloud in this window. If you're uploading more than 20 files and want to see the complete list, select View all to open the window.
-
Select adjacent to to open the Issue resolver window for more information.
