Dynamic: Custom
A Dynamic: Custom drive allows you to map to a single drive letter any combination of the different types of drives supported by CDM, as long as the combination that it brings together complies with the following criteria:
-
A single Direct: OneDrive drive.
-
A maximum of 100 Direct: SharePoint document library drives (access to the root of 100 document libraries or folders within those document libraries).
-
A maximum of 100 Direct: Shared OneDrive drives (access to files and folders on OneDrive of 100 users).
-
A maximum of 100 Direct: SharePoint site drives.
-
A single Dynamic: OneDrive shortcuts drive.
-
A single Dynamic: Microsoft Teams drive.
-
A single Dynamic: SharePoint drive.
When a Dynamic: Custom drive brings together a combination of these different types of drives, it ensures that, where applicable, it interfaces with Microsoft 365 for changes to users’ access to SharePoint sites, document libraries, Teams, and channels.
At the root of the drive, you’ll see all the different types of drives you’ve mapped to a single drive letter via the Dynamic: Custom drive. When you select a specific drive, the standard behavior associated with the drive will occur.
CDM caches a list of the different types of CDM drives that you’ve mapped to a Dynamic: Custom drive. It only does this to avoid overburdening Microsoft services, which can adversely impact the performance of your Microsoft 365 tenancy. By default, CDM refreshes this list every 3 hours. Depending on the combination of the different types of drives mapped to your Dynamic: Custom drive, any changes to your OneDrive shortcuts, SharePoint sites, teams, and channels you are a member of will not reflect in your Dynamic: Custom drive in real time.
If it is imperative that you see these changes reflected in your Dynamic: Custom drive immediately, consider exiting CDM and signing in again. You can change this refresh interval by contacting our support team. However, as mentioned earlier, this may impact the performance of your tenancy.
