If you add your SharePoint document libraries as shortcuts to OneDrive, wouldn’t it be great if you could map all your OneDrive shortcuts to a single drive letter? CDM allows you to do just that by mapping your OneDrive shortcuts to a Dynamic: OneDrive shortcuts drive. This way, whenever you add a new SharePoint document library as a shortcut to OneDrive, it automatically appears in your Dynamic: OneDrive shortcuts drive. Similarly, when you remove a shortcut link from OneDrive, it is also removed from this drive. OneDrive shortcuts will not show in your Direct: OneDrive. Access to OneDrive shortcuts is only possible via the drive letter mapped to a Dynamic: OneDrive shortcuts drive.
CDM caches a list of your OneDrive shortcuts mapped to a Dynamic: OneDrive shortcuts drive. It only does this to avoid overburdening Microsoft services, which can adversely impact the performance of your Microsoft 365 tenancy. By default, CDM refreshes this list every 3 hours, which means that when you add or remove a shortcut, the update will not reflect in your Dynamic: OneDrive shortcuts drive in real time.
If it is imperative that you see these changes reflected in your Dynamic: OneDrive shortcuts drive immediately, consider exiting CDM and signing in again. You can change this refresh interval by contacting our support team. However, as mentioned earlier, this may impact the performance of your tenancy.
