Cloud Drive Mapper (CDM) 3.18 (Pre-release)
Release date: February 27, 2025
CDM client
New features
-
26421: CDM now supports your ability to map drives directly to folders (deep linking). The Direct path to folder option, available exclusively for Direct: OneDrive, Direct: SharePoint document library, and Direct: Shared OneDrive drives, allows admins to designate a specific folder as the root level for a CDM-mapped drive. As a result, when CDM mounts the drive, it opens directly at the specified folder level instead of the drive's actual root level. This ensures that users can only view and modify folders for which they have permission. Learn more
-
26431: CDM now supports environment variables so admins can create user-specific drive mappings based on defined values, such as their users' departments, locations, and so on. The process entails defining placeholders for environment variables in Iris, assigning corresponding values to these placeholders, and deploying them to users via Group Policy or Microsoft Intune. Improvements
-
29152: We've optimized CDM's performance when loading folders, reducing the time it takes to display folder contents, especially for users with large directories.
-
31409: CDM now fully supports Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 8, which removes the dependency CDM had on Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 6.
-
31703: We've improved the authentication flow to recover automatically when a user interacts with a drive after a period of inactivity.
-
31777: We've improved how CDM synchronizes folder states with Windows Explorer, ensuring the view is always as accurate as possible when files and folders change within CDM.
-
31796: We've made further improvements to help mitigate throttling imposed by Microsoft 365 by ensuring all our calls return the properties we need only. Doing so will reduce the cost of the call from Microsoft and the payload we download by 50%.
Fixed bugs
-
31297: We've fixed the issue with CDM not showing the Dynamic: SharePoint drive as mounting if you've selected the Microsoft Teams document libraries checkbox in Iris.
-
31857: We've fixed the issue where CDM was restoring files to the wrong location during session migration.
-
31909: We've fixed the issue causing CDM drives to get stuck in a mounting state if SharePoint returned a Forbidden error.
-
32293: We've fixed the issue where CDM would crash upon exiting despite the logs indicating a successful shutdown.
-
32647: We've fixed the issue where CDM would log a "Not allowed node type detected for" exception when navigating certain mapped directories under specific configurations.
-
32656: We've fixed the issue where shortcuts containing videos are not handled properly during session migration.
-
32664: We've fixed the issue where some CDM components continue running even after the user has exited the application.
-
32677: We've fixed the session migration issue that occurs when you create new folders in the root drive.
CDM installer
Improvements

29441: We've removed all PowerShell executions from our installers to provide a more seamless experience when deploying CDM in restricted environments.
Fixed bugs

31050: We've fixed the issue where the log level resets to Info (default) after you upgrade CDM.
-
31157: We've fixed the issue with CDM not starting correctly if Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio is missing when deploying CDM via the MSI file.
-
31851: The installer now includes a screen that prevents installation when our file system driver, IAMFSP, is still running from a previous installation.
-
31860: We've fixed the issue where CDM did not always launch if the LAUNCHCDM=1 flag was set during installation.
