CDM client

Enhancements

  • We’ve improved which endpoint CDM decides to do a delta update on to minimize the effect of Microsoft caching between its SharePoint and Microsoft Graph APIs.

    Reference No: 34010

  • We’ve improved how CDM handles internationalization in co-authoring mode to ensure international characters display correctly when files are opened.

    Reference No: 35419

  • We’ve added a check to make sure that new documents capable of being co-authored have a maximum amount of time to open in co-authoring mode before they switch to opening without co-authoring, preventing hangs when opening a file.

We’ve relocated temporary files needed during co-authoring to a location that will not be affected by Microsoft Storage Sense or other similar storage management operations that exist outside of CDM.

    Reference No: 37444

  • We’ve made significant improvements to optimize the distribution of drive subscription expiries. This enables us to ensure balanced load distribution, resulting in improved service resilience.

    Reference No: 37605

  • We’ve implemented a more advanced shutdown mechanism for CDM during an upgrade to ensure that it shuts down gracefully in all conditions.

    Reference No: 37768

  • After introducing support for running a distributed Azure app to reduce throttling, we’ve now added the ProviderAppId in the Provider Monitoring Service.

CDM installer

Enhancements

  • The intunewin package for x64 and ARM64 devices now includes the essential runtime components required for deploying CDM successfully. While this has increased the size of the deployment file, it will significantly reduce the overhead and complexity of deploying CDM to devices managed by Microsoft Intune that don’t already have these components installed.
