Prerequisites and compatibility
This article lists prerequisites for installing Cloud Drive Mapper (CDM) along with information about supported operating systems and other software.
Prerequisites
-
Minimum requirement: Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015-2022 (x64)
-
Minimum requirement: Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 6.0.22
-
Minimum requirement: Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime 113.0.1774.0
Regardless of how you deploy CDM, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio, Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 6 and Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime will be installed automatically.
-
Grant CDM admin consent
-
Whitelist the following URLs if your organization uses firewalls, proxies, or web filtering:
-
https://bifrost.iamcloud.net
-
https://iris.iamcloud.net
-
https://ids.iamcloud.net
-
https://graph.microsoft.com (Global)
-
https://login.microsoftonline.com
-
https://<tenant-name>.sharepoint.com: Replace <tenant-name> with your SharePoint Online tenant name.
-
https://<tenant-name>-my.sharepoint.com: This URL only applies to personal OneDrive sites. Replace <tenant-name> with your SharePoint Online tenant name.
-
http://www.msftconnecttest.com: Ensure you configure the network firewall to allow access to this URL on port 80. You need to do this as this URL doesn’t support HTTPS protocol.
-
For CDM to behave more robustly when transitioning between online and offline, it uses the official Microsoft probe, located in the registry, and performs a HEAD request to ensure the adaptor is online. To perform a HEAD request, it combines the following registry key paths:
-
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet\ActiveWebProbeHost
-
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet\ActiveWebProbePath
Since the Microsoft Probe does not support the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), CDM performs the HEAD request via HTTP the same way Windows does.
-
For users in US Government environments, Germany, or China, whitelist the following URLs:
-
https://login.microsoftonline.us (US Government GCC, GCC High, DoD)
-
https://login-us.microsoftonline.com (US Government Cloud)
-
https://login.microsoftonline.de (Germany)
-
https://login.partner.microsoftonline.cn (China 21Vianet)
-
https://login.chinacloudapi.cn (China 21Vianet)
-
You can use the Microsoft OpenID Connect endpoint to identify authentication URLs for a specific tenant: https://login.microsoftonline.com/<tenant-id>/.well-known/openid-configuration.
In multi-geo environments, SharePoint and OneDrive URLs may also include regional geo-locations. For example:
-
https://<tenant-name>nam.sharepoint.com
-
https://<tenant-name>eur.sharepoint.com
Therefore, please whitelist regional SharePoint URLs associated with your multi-geo locations as well.
