Prerequisites and compatibility
This article lists CDM’s minimum software, hardware, and operating system requirements, along with other essential steps you should consider before deploying CDM.
System requirements
Essential Runtime components
You can’t deploy CDM successfully without first installing the following runtime components:

List of trusted URLs
You’ll need to add some URLs to your trusted list to avoid CDM’s traffic to Microsoft 365 or Bifrost (the IAM Cloud API) from being blocked. This is especially relevant when:
-
Your organization uses firewalls, proxies, web filters, or security software
-
Your Microsoft 365 tenant is based in a US Government Community Cloud (GCC), GCC High, or DoD
-
Your Microsoft 365 tenant is based in Germany or China
-
Your Microsoft 365 tenant is multi-geo-enabled
Guidance for organizations using network or security controls
If your organization uses firewalls, proxies, web filters, or security software, you’ll need to whitelist the following URLs:
-
https://graph.microsoft.com (Global)
-
https://login.microsoftonline.com
-
https://*.iamcloud.net: This is a wildcard domain. Ensure that traffic to this domain is allowed through your network or security controls.
https://<tenant-name>.sharepoint.com: Replace <tenant-name> with your SharePoint Online tenant name.
-
https://<tenant-name>-my.sharepoint.com: This URL only applies to personal OneDrive sites. Replace <tenant-name> with your SharePoint Online tenant name.
Guidance for US government environments, Germany, or China
If your Microsoft 365 tenant is based in a US Government Community Cloud (GCC), GCC High, or DoD, Germany, or China, and it uses firewalls, proxies, web filtering, or security software, you’ll need to whitelist the following URLs:
-
https://login.microsoftonline.us (US Government GCC, GCC High, DoD)
-
https://login-us.microsoftonline.com (US Government Cloud)
-
https://login.microsoftonline.de (Germany)
-
https://login.partner.microsoftonline.cn (China 21Vianet)
-
https://login.chinacloudapi.cn (China 21Vianet)
Guidance for multi-geo environments
In multi-geo environments, SharePoint and OneDrive URLs may also include regional geo-locations. For example:
-
https://<tenant-name>nam.sharepoint.com
-
https://<tenant-name>eur.sharepoint.com
Therefore, if your organization uses firewalls, proxies, web filtering, or security software, please whitelist regional SharePoint URLs associated with your multi-geo locations.
Exclusion policy
If your Microsoft 365 tenant uses security software, you’ll need to add specific paths to your organization’s exclusion policy. These include the following:
-
C:\Program Files\IAM Cloud\Cloud Drive Mapper: The Cloud Drive Mapper folder contains application binaries essential for CDM to function.
-
C:\Windows\Temp\IAM Technology Group Limited\Cloud Drive Mapper: The Cloud Drive Mapper folder also contains temporary files that the CDM installer uses during installation, upgrade, and uninstallation.
-
%temp%\IAMCloud: The IAMCloud folder contains temporary files for the CDM.CoAuthHandler.exe, which are used for co-authoring in Microsoft Office apps.
-
C:\Program Data\IAM Cloud\Cloud Drive Mapper: The Cloud Drive Mapper folder contains gRPC domain socket files essential for CDM to function.
-
%localappdata%\IAM Cloud\Cloud Drive Mapper: The Cloud Drive Mapper folder contains CDM log files, the local database, and session data required by CDM to function correctly.
Tenant-level Microsoft 365 integration
