Creating a custom mapping group

  1. Select Configure mapping groups from the Dashboard.

  2. Select the Custom mapping groups tab.

  3. Select Create mapping group to create a new custom mapping group or then Duplicate default mapping group .

Selecting Duplicate default mapping group applies your default mapping group configuration to the custom mapping group you’re creating. You can still add new drives, edit them, or delete existing drives from the duplicated configuration.

  1. If you’ve selected Duplicate default mapping group in the previous step, go to step 8. Otherwise, go to step 5.

  2. Enter a name for the new mapping group, then map your first drive by selecting the drive type, specifying a label, and assigning it a drive letter.

Naming a custom mapping group is mandatory. You can use the same name for multiple custom mapping groups, but we don’t recommend it.

  1. Optionally, select Add drive to add additional drives to the mapping group. While doing so, keep the following rules in mind:

  • You can only map one drive letter to a OneDrive for Business drive.

  • You can map multiple drive letters to Direct: SharePoint document library, Direct: SharePoint site, and Direct: Shared OneDrive drives.

  • You can only have one of each dynamic drive type within a custom mapping group.

  1. Select Save to create the mapping group. The new mapping group will be assigned a key, which you can use for multiple purposes. For more information, see the Mapping group key section.

  1. Enter a name for the new mapping group.

  1. Select Save to create the mapping group.
