Mapping group key

When you create a custom mapping group, we assign it a key. This key informs CDM about mapping groups and configurations to apply for your tenancy at startup. When CDM can’t find this key, mapping configurations within your default mapping group are applied to your tenancy. Therefore, if you want to set up different mapping configurations for different users within your organization, you must deploy this key.

You can deploy a mapping group key for computers or specific users within your organization. You can deploy it for computers via Group Policy. When you deploy it for particular users, you can do so via Group Policy or Microsoft Intune.
