Folder redirection policy ID

When you enable folder redirection for a Direct: OneDrive, you’ll need to create and assign a folder redirection policy to the drive so that it can redirect your profile folders to your OneDrive for Business account accordingly. You can create up to 200 folder redirection policies. For more information, see Folder redirection.

When you create a folder redirection policy, we assign it a unique ID. This is a registry string value that informs CDM about the folder redirection policy to apply to a Direct: OneDrive in mapping groups in your organization at startup. If you want to assign different folder redirection policies to different users within your organization, you must deploy this registry string value.

While you can deploy it using an application deployment tool of your choice, this section provides information on how to do so through Group Policy (GPO) and Microsoft Intune.

In this section, the terms folder redirection policy ID and registry string value refer to the same configuration entry.
