Folder redirection

Folder redirection is the process of silently re-routing your Windows profile folders such as Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, and so on. While these folders still appear local to you and function as such, in the background, they are re-routed somewhere else (traditionally to network storage). This process enables you to log on to any computer on the network and see your content in the profile folders.

CDM also supports folder redirection. However, rather than re-routing a user's profile folders to network storage, CDM redirects these folders to the user's OneDrive for Business account. This means you have access to your profile folders even when you are not on your local network, and the data roams with you on both network-managed and cloud-managed devices.
