Mapping group ID
When you create a custom mapping group, we assign it a unique ID. This is a registry string value that informs CDM about mapping groups and configurations to apply for your tenancy at startup. When CDM can’t find this registry string value, mapping configurations within your default mapping group are applied to your tenancy. Therefore, if you want to set up different mapping configurations for different users within your organization, you must deploy this registry string value.
While you can deploy it using an application deployment tool of your choice, this section provides information on how to do so through Group Policy (GPO) and Microsoft Intune.
In this section, the terms mapping group ID and registry string value refer to the same configuration entry.
